Press release: Premier Doug Ford Joins OSCA to Celebrate Ontario’s First High School Girls’ Cricket Team
Marcatus QED is proud to partner with the Ontario Schools Cricket Association (OSCA) and the Government of Ontario in support of the Cricket Across the Pond 2026 initiative.
On July 20, 2026, fifteen Ontario student-athletes were officially introduced at a team announcement held at the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club. Premier Doug Ford joined students, families, educators, coaches, and community partners to celebrate this historic milestone.
The students will travel to England this August for a leadership and experiential learning tour. They will participate in cricket, leadership, and ambassadorial training, visit leading institutions, and take part in cultural exchanges and opportunities to engage with inspiring female leaders, government representatives, and international partners.

More Than a Cricket Tour
At Marcatus QED, we believe this initiative is about much more than sport. Cricket Across the Pond 2026 will help these young women build confidence, leadership skills, resilience, teamwork, and gain international experience.
Following the tour, the students will return to their schools and communities as ambassadors and role models, inspiring more young people to participate in cricket, stay active, and pursue leadership opportunities.
Our work begins with a seed in the ground. We nurture it, grow it, and bring it to the table. When we see young people eating well, staying active, learning, and growing together, we are reminded of why we do what we do.
